Boost your credit score with this simple credit trick
One of the quickest and most efficient ways to increase your credit score is a very simple one. First, obtain all the current balances on all of your credit cards. Now look at the maximum credit line for each.
The 30 percent trick: Make sure your outstanding balance for each line of credit is no more than 30 percent. So if you have a $10,000 line of credit on your Visa card and the balance is $6,000, you are using 60 percent of your credit line and that will likely push your credit score down.
Lowering your balance to $3,000 or less, meets the 30 percent threshold that credit scoring likes to see. Remember, it’s not the percentage of your total debt compared to your total credit line that matters. It is the total balance for each card that you need to focus on to use the 30 percent trick.
